Lurline track record is one of professional and political service and success through hard work. Lurline began her political career when she was elected as a Councillor in 1986. It is testament to her care for her constituents that she is re-elected with ever increasing majorities. In 2005 she was runner up to Britain’s Mayor of the year award. She is a patriotic and common sense politician and a devote Christian. She had been vocal in her opposition to political correctness as a divisive force and advocated a new inclusive approach “The Cosmopolitan Community” during her nomination for the Mayor of London candidacy 2008. Her manifesto set out many other clear policies that no doubt influenced other candidates.
She is currently appointed to the Government Equalities Department as a BAME Taskforce member and has founded the Charity Reachoutafrica (ROA) for which she is a patron.
